Berghaus is a leading brand of outdoor clothing and equipment which was founded in the north of England more than 50 years ago. It is a company which seems to pride itself on the quality of the products it supplies, so much so that they offer a lifetime guarantee on all of their outdoor clothing and equipment.
This is not a guarantee for the rest of your lifetime, but rather a guarantee for the lifetime of the product. Each case is reviewed and assessed individually, but if you think that your product displays a fault or a flaw whilst it should still be performing perfectly, you could be eligible for a replacement free of charge. Further details of this service are available on the Berghaus website and if you think you are eligible to claim then you will need to get in touch with the Berghaus customer service team.
If there is nothing wrong with your product, but you have changed your mind about the purchase, then the Berghaus outdoor returns policy will still be able to refund the product for you in most circumstances. No matter what the scenario, Parcel Delivery is here to help.
Below you will find the main outline of the Berghaus outdoor returns policy. Please note that the following information only applies to items which were purchased through the Berghaus website. If you purchased an item from them in store, then you will have to return it to the shop to receive your refund.
General conditions
You will be fully entitled for a refund or exchange on your recent purchase from Berghaus, as long as you are able to return the products within 30 days of having purchased them. If you are returning products which are damaged or faulty, then you may have longer than 30 days, depending on the circumstances, but straightforward returns must be delivered within this time period. Please note that the product you are returning must arrive back at Berghaus within this 30 day period, so make sure that you leave plenty of time to send the parcel, otherwise you could lose your eligibility for a refund or exchange.
If you opt for a refund, the money will be returned to you via the original form of payment you used to make the purchase. It could take up to 30 days after Berghaus receive the product for the money to arrive back on your statement. If you decide that you would prefer a different product in exchange, then you will receive more accurate details about how long this will take by speaking to customer services. It will largely depend on the availability of the replacement products you are looking for.
If you are sending back goods which are damaged or faulty, these will have to be inspected before a decision is made about your refund. If the fault or damage is deemed to fall within the guidelines of the Berghaus guarantee, your product will either be replaced with a similar one or repaired if this is possible.
Cool off
Aside from the Berghaus outdoor returns policy, customers who purchase items from Berghaus are also protected by Distance Selling Regulations. In the United Kingdom, consumers have 14 working days to change their mind about a purchase made online and void their order. In these instances, Berghaus will refund the total amount of the products you are cancelling, as well as some delivery charges you might have paid to get them to your door. These 14 days are not in addition to the 30 day policy for returns, but occur simultaneously.
Return Your Berghaus Parcel
There are two options for Berghaus outdoor parcel returns and it is completely up to you which of these you would prefer. They have both been put in place in order to try and make returns as easy and convenient for customers as possible. As long as you are returning your items from the United Kingdom, both of these options are completely free of charge.
Firstly, fill out the returns form which is printed on the reverse side of the delivery note which comes with your package. Make sure to include all of the relevant sections as these will help staff at the other end process your refund or exchange. If you have opted to exchange the product for something else, or for a different size, make sure to state clearly what you would like to receive in return. If the item is faulty or damaged, so you no longer have the delivery note, make sure that you include all of your personal details as well as your order number and a description of the problem with the item on a piece of paper and enclose this in your Berghaus outdoor parcel returns package. You will be able to find the correct returns address on the Berghaus website.
Secondly, choose a suitable form of packaging for your items and prepare them for delivery. You can use the same packaging in which they were delivered in the first place, but make sure that this is still in good condition and that your own address has been removed first. Remember to place your returns form inside the package before you seal it.
When your Berghaus order is delivered to you, you will see that there is a self-adhesive label attached to your delivery note which is pre-printed with the Berghaus outdoor returns address. Take this label off the delivery note and attach it to the outside of your parcel for return. If you no longer have the delivery note, write the Beghaus outdoor returns address clearly on the outside of the parcel in clear, bold letters.
Once you have completed all of these steps, take your parcel to either a Post Office or a Collect Plus drop-off point in order to send your returns free of charge.
Berghaus Couriers
There are two different couriers which you can choose from for your Berghaus outdoor parcel returns; Collect+ and the Royal Mail. Both of these options are free to you as Berghaus pick up the cost directly with the delivery company.
Royal Mail
Simply attach the Berghaus outdoor returns label which is included on your delivery note to the front of your parcel and take your parcel to the nearest post office. It’s that easy! The Post Office will deliver your parcel back to Berghaus and Berghaus will arrange payment with the Post Office for this service.
Collect+
Collect Plus is a great option for people who don’t live or work near a Post Office, or who are unable to get to one during their somewhat limited opening hours. It’s a really simple way of sending a parcel back. Simply attach and include all of the documentation required and then drop off the parcel at one of more than 5,000 stores in the UK who operate a Collect+ service.
You can find your nearest drop-off point by visiting the Collect+ website. Drop-off points tend to be local convenience stores and mini supermarkets, which are open for much longer hours than post offices.
